Trends in Space Planning - Town Halls

In the post-COVID era, office space planning has shifted significantly to prioritise collaborative environments that foster connection and communication among employees. The Town Hall element has emerged as a vital component in this reimagined workspace. Designed as a spacious, flexible area, the Town Hall serves as a hub for gatherings, meetings, and social interactions, encouraging a sense of community and belonging in a landscape where remote work and hybrid models have become prevalent. This multifunctional space is equipped with advanced technology to facilitate both in-person and virtual participation, ensuring inclusivity for all employees. With an emphasis on open design and comfortable amenities, the Town Hall inspires creativity and collaboration. Ultimately, it reflects a dynamic approach to office space that values both individual productivity and collective engagement as organisations adapt to new work models .

Wilson Architectures experience in dealing with international corporate clients, has led us to design a variety of TownHall spaces with totally different briefs. Some were located in the canteen where AV screens were installed and furniture was made mobile for flexibility. Some were not planned to be Town Hall spaces but naturally became one as we recently experienced in PepsiCo. The reception area with its double height space allowed a large crowd attend for a Ministerial visit. Then there are spaces which are dedicated to the Town Hall activity which become the heart of the office space where creativity and collaboration are nourished.

Here are some examples of successful TownHall spaces designed by Wilson Architecture.
